The Can-Am name has a long and interesting history. It originated in Canada, where it was originally known as Bombardier Snow Car Limited. The company began manufacturing motorcycles in 1972 and was rebranded to Can-Am in 2007. The first models of Can-Am dirt bikes were built in Juarez, Mexico, while the X mr 1000R was made in Chula Vista, California. The company now manufactures all types of ATVs, including utility models, motocross tractors, and golf carts.

In 2010, the Can-Am Commander was introduced, the first side-by-side vehicle. It had six models and two engine sizes. The commander 1000, which has an 85 horsepower Rotax V-Twin engine, was introduced in 2011. In 2011, the company won the “Best of the Best” award for the Can-Am Commander 1000.
